Her Crowning ceremony was watched, in the first televised coronation of a monarch, by millions around the world. Queen Elizabeth II was 25 years of age when she became the Queen of Australia, Canada, Ceylon (Now Sri Lanka), New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa and the United Kingdom; but had spent much of her early years enjoying a quiet life with her parents and sister Princess Margaret.
