UV Resistant Hoses: Plastics can be chemically broken down by the effects of UV radiation depending on the duration and intensity (ageing). The resistance of polyurethanes to UV radiation is good in general, but over the course of time the material turns yellow and the surface becomes slightly brittle. This results in a slight reduction in the mechanical properties. Stabilisation against ageing can be attained by using UV stabilisers and/or through colour pigmentation.
